Compassion grows out of difficulties
GOING THROUGH DIFFICULT TIMES:
When you go through difficult times it can be helpful to see them as a way of going through a TRANSFORMATION. You are given an opportunity to transform your current situation into a different one.
Often, when we go through difficult times we get fearful. Fearful of change, fearful of the unknown we are stepping into, fearful of the reason why we are facing such difficulties.
The number one tip for when faced with a challenge or difficult situation: share your thoughts and feelings with somebody with whom you feel comfortable!
Don’t be afraid to admit that you are going through some tough times. We all go through tough times. It does not mean that we are inefficient or inadequate or that we are being punished. Difficulties are part of life. But on the other side of them lie discoveries and new opportunities.
Without difficult times, we would not be challenged in any way, and we would not be pushed forward in our own maturity and path. Chaos creates.
Another thing to remember is, that knowing yourself and understanding the higher perspective of your life circumstances can help you understand the meaning of the difficulties you are facing. When you know yourself well, it can be easier to understand what you can use your challenge/difficult situation for, and how you can actually use it to gain momentum and move forward.
To help you understand yourself better, and to see the connection between your mind, your body and your soul/spirit, you can be your own detective and go looking for clues:
- Look for clues in your physical body. Is there a pain connected to the challenge? Where is the pain and what does it prevent you from doing?
- Look at how the challenge affects your sense of personal freedom.
- Do any of your relationships suffer because of this challenge?
You can as a start choose to delve into these questions. Intend to find out the underlying causes of your current difficult situation. You will find the answers within you.
You can also look at any recurring themes. Do you seem to run in to the same type of challenge or difficult situation?
With this kind of basic clarity and pondering you are in a much stronger and better position to WORK WITH your inner self (soul) and your ego (personality) instead of going against them.
The more you know and understand yourself and the better you become at interpreting your own life and the circumstances you find yourself in, the better you become at moving through and beyond the current challenges and getting to the other end, where new land awaits. Compassion is but one positive virtue that gets a chance to grow within us each time we have come through a challenge.
Life is an ever-expanding experience! We keep “graduating” and rising to new levels, bringing with us our ever-growing treasure trove of understanding and skills!
Dare to take the next step into your difficult situation. Seek support, mentally, physically or spiritually – and look for your own ways to listen to your gentle inner voice, whether that’d be through meditation, yoga, hiking in nature, musical retreats or other ways in which you access visions or get a knowing. You can choose the activities that lead you to that place within you where your find your calmness and love for your whole existence.
